Book Donation Program – Karamalaiyootru Primary School
Oceanpick organized a book donation program. As part of the event, school bags filled with essential supplies were donated to support the educational journey of these young learners. In February 2023, Oceanpick (Pvt) Ltd organized a New Year–season book donation program for Karamalaiyootru Primary School in Trincomalee. The initiative supported students with essential learning materials at the start of the school year and strengthened our relationship with the local community.
Objectives
- Reduce back-to-school burden on families by providing stationery.
- Encourage attendance, continuity in learning, and creative expression.
- Promote Oceanpick’s commitment to education and community wellbeing.
What We Provided (Each Student Pack)
- Exercise books (80-page; single-rule and square-rule)
- Drawing book (40-page)
- Double-rule book
- Colour pastels (24s)
- Pencils
- Eraser
- Pencil sharpener
Beneficiaries
- 50 primary students received individual stationery packs.
Key Activities
- Coordinated with the school to confirm needs and student numbers.
- Procured age-appropriate stationery and prepared 50 labeled packs.
- Oceanpick volunteers delivered the packs to the school and conducted a brief handover with teachers and students.
