Closing the Loop: Oceanpick Visits NRC Recycling Facility
As part of our commitment to responsible waste management and circular economy practices, Oceanpick recently visited the Negombo Recycling Club (NRC) plastic collection and processing site. This visit offered firsthand insight into how post-consumer plastic—collected through our cleanup initiatives—is transformed into fully sustainable end products.
NRC’s advanced facility features a closed-loop recycling system, where plastics are sorted, washed, shredded, and repurposed into high-quality raw materials and consumer goods. From discarded packaging to industrial-grade pellets, the process highlights how innovation and infrastructure can turn waste into value. We’re proud to be connected with NRC and aligned in our mission to reduce plastic pollution, promote recycling, and build a cleaner, greener future for Sri Lanka’s coastal communities. Below is the NRC collection point in Trincomalee where we will hand over waste.
