Plastics Free Cod-bay Harbour
Oceanpick proudly completed the third phase of the Plastic-Free Cod-bay Harbour initiative today, reinforcing our commitment to marine conservation and community health. This comprehensive cleanup effort targeted both land and sea areas around Cod-bay, with a special focus on plastic waste removal, grass cutting, and eliminating potential dengue breeding sites.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Navy and the Cod-bay Fisheries Harbour Corporation, whose continued support has been instrumental in scaling the impact of this campaign. Together, we are transforming Cod-bay into a model harbor for environmental stewardship and public safety.
Highlights from the Third Cleanup
- Full-scale plastic collection across harbor and shoreline
- Grass cutting to improve visibility and reduce mosquito habitats
- Targeted removal of stagnant water and waste to eliminate dengue risk points
- Strong partnership with the Navy and Fisheries Corporation for operational support
This initiative is more than a cleanup—it’s a movement. Oceanpick remains committed to making Cod-bay Harbour the first plastic-free harbor in Sri Lanka, setting a new benchmark for sustainability, marine protection, and coastal resilience.
