Oceanpick marked the New Year with a warm, community-focused event for children in the Karumalaiyoothu fisheries community, gifting school bags to kids and providing food support for nearby families. It was a simple initiative, but it carried real meaning, because school needs to add pressure to households already balancing uncertain daily income. The team made it feel personal, not just handing over items, but showing up, speaking with families, and celebrating the children’s excitement. Moments like these strengthen community bonds and remind families that they’re seen and supported and especially at the start of the year, when hope and responsibility arrive together.
Why this matters
