Alain Michel Hatchery

Nursery 1 –
Alain Michel Hatchery

The Alain Michel Hatchery serves as Oceanpick’s primary hatchery and early life-stage production facility. The site comprises broodstock, live feed, larval rearing, and nursery units that collectively support the production of high-quality juvenile fish for transfer to offshore cage farms.

Planned Mangrove
Restoration Site

Planned Mangrove Restoration Site

Oceanpick has developed a proposal to restore approximately 4 hectares of mangrove forest, which is currently under review by the Department of Forestry, Sri Lanka. The project aims to enhance coastal biodiversity, improve shoreline protection, and contribute to blue carbon sequestration.

Oceanpick Farm Operational
Office and Store – Cod Bay

Oceanpick Farm Office and Store – Cod Bay

The Cod Bay facility serves as Oceanpick’s main operational hub, supporting offshore farm management, logistics coordination, and equipment storage. The site also works closely with local stakeholders to help maintain a plastic-free harbor environment in Cod Bay.

Powder Bay –
Sustainable Farm Site

Powder Bay – Sustainable Farm Site

Powder Bay is an offshore sea cage farming site where pre-grow out phase fish are stocked. The sheltered bay environment provides suitable conditions for stable fish growth before transferring to deeper offshore sites.

Mangrove Restoration Site

Mangrove Restoration Site 1 – Cat Cove Bay

Oceanpick has planted approximately 900 mangrove seedlings near Cat Cove Bay, Trincomalee as part of its mangrove restoration initiative. This project contributes to coastal ecosystem recovery, habitat creation, and long-term carbon sequestration.

Pilot Seaweed Cultivation Project

Pilot Seaweed Cultivation Project

As part of its sustainability and research initiatives, we conducted a pilot cultivation of Kappaphycus alvarezii, harvesting approximately 655 kg of seaweed. The project serves as an R&D effort to explore sustainable aquaculture diversification and potential community-based livelihood opportunities.

Minden Rock – Sustainable Farm Site 2

Minden Rock – Sustainable Farm Site 2

This offshore cage site is used for the final grow-out stage. The site allows efficient biomass management and helps optimize production across multiple farming locations.

Minden Rock – Sustainable Farm Site 1

Minden Rock – Sustainable Farm Site 1

Minden Rock Site 1 hosts offshore cages used for the mid phase grow-out of fish. The deeper water conditions and stronger currents provide improved water exchange, supporting optimal fish growth and health.

Nursery 2 – Kappalthurei

Nursery 2 is a new nursery facility currently under development in Kappalthurei. The site is intended to expand our juvenile fish production capacity while supporting employment and development opportunities within nearby coastal communities.

Planned Mangrove Nursery Site

We plan to establish a mangrove nursery capable of producing approximately 10,000 mangrove seedlings. These seedlings will support future mangrove restoration initiatives and help strengthen coastal ecosystem conservation efforts in the Trincomalee region.

Our Sustainable
Projects

Across Sri Lanka’s coastline and inland communities, Oceanpick’s sustainability efforts come to life through meaningful, action-driven projects. From coastal restoration to responsible aquaculture practices, each initiative on this map represents our commitment to preserving ecosystems, supporting local livelihoods, and driving long-term environmental progress. Together, these projects form the foundation of a more resilient and sustainable future for our oceans.
