NCD Health Camp (Diabetes/BMI/Blood Pressure)
We conducted a non-communicable disease screening camp for around 60 people, covering diabetes checks, BMI/waist ratio, and blood pressure, in collaboration with CFHC and the fisheries community at Cod Bay. The camp brought healthcare closer to people who often delay checkups because of work schedules, travel time, or cost, especially fishers and harbor workers who can’t easily step away. It wasn’t just testing, it included counseling on diet, activity, and lifestyle risk factors, plus referral guidance for those needing follow-up. The atmosphere was supportive and practical, helping people understand their numbers, what they mean, and what small changes could protect their health and earning ability long term.
