For World Fisheries Day, Oceanpick worked with the Fisheries Department and the Public Health Inspector to run sessions that connected sustainable fishing, ocean conservation, and community health, including dengue prevention. What made it meaningful was the “full picture” approach. Responsible fishing isn’t only about the sea, it’s also about cleaner landing sites, safer handling, and healthier communities. The conversations covered how better practices protect fish stocks for the future, while also improving livelihoods today through quality, compliance, and reduced waste. It also strengthened relationships with public institutions, showing the community that Oceanpick supports long-term fisheries wellbeing, not just short-term buying and selling.
